In ancient Greece, the asclepion was a healing temple dedicated to Asclepius, the God of Medicine. Asclepius learned the art of surgery from the centaur Chiron and had the ability to raise the dead. The Rod of Asclepius is a roughhewn branch entwined with a single serpent.

Excerpt from Class
One of the course coordinators was showing us some chest X-rays last Friday. In response to "Where is the pneumothorax?" she said, "To the left, to the left." When she heard me chortle, she replied, "Me and Beyonce...we're tight."
